The Grammy performance roster already boasts a galaxy of stars that includes Lady Gaga, Green Day, Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Pink, Taylor Swift and Maxwell. So, it just makes sense that the first round of presenters announced on Thursday (January 14) would match that star wattage. The Recording Academy unveiled the first group of presenters, which includes Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, the Jonas Brothers and LL Cool J. Also scheduled to present awards are actors Kristen Bell, Jeff Bridges and Josh Duhamel and musicians Norah Jones, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and ex-Beatle Ringo Starr.

The 52nd annual Grammys will air live at 8 p.m. ET on January 31 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will also feature performances from Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band. More performers and presenters will be announced soon. The show will feature live sets from all five of the Album of the Year nominees

“I’m uncomfortable campaigning,” the singer-songwriter – and nominee for the ACM’s Entertainer of the Year award – said in Franklin, Tenn., at a party this week in honor of his two No. 1 songs, “Welcome to the Future” and “American Saturday Night.”

“Honestly, I don’t like that part of it. I understand that people love to get involved and it’s cool that they can, but vote for who you want.”

Paisley, 37, is actually one of eight country artists in the running for the top honor at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, airing Sunday, April 18, on CBS at 8 p.m./7 p.m. Central, with Reba McEntire as host.

The award – the ACM’s top honor – is selected by fans via an online ballot, with voting to begin April 1.

Paisley’s competition includes last year’s winner Carrie Underwood, along with Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, George Strait, Zac Brown Band and four-time winner Kenny Chesney.

Good Sportsmanship

Whoever takes home the title, Paisley says he’ll be content with the results. “If you’re happy with somebody’s show last year and you had a great time, vote for them,” he says. “If that’s me, that’s great. If not, I will stand and clap for whoever wins.”

And win or lose, he’s planning to enjoy the night.

“The ACMs are in Vegas, so they are a little more of a show where what happens there, stays there,” he says. “You can walk through a casino and see Kix Brooks throwing down. At the CMA awards, everybody gets dressed up and decked out and we go to our respective parties and then go home.”

At the ACMs, however, “there’s a party the whole time, so it’s a little bit more lighthearted.”
