Getting out of an Auto Loan Contract?

I purchased a used car from Value Auto Mart in Chicago, IL. I would like to return the car and forfeit all responsibility since my financial situation is going down the drain. Customer represents that he has physical damage insurance and bodily injury liability insurance in force, and shall be responsible for all losses and damages to the Vehicle which are not covered by that insurance.
In the event Customer's credit is not approved by Value or Customer rejects Value's offered credit terms for the purchase of this Vehicle, this purchase order shall be canceled, the Vehicle returned to Value in the same condition as when received by Customer and Customer's ebtire deposit and any trade-in shall be returned to Customer in which event Customer will have no further obligation to Value.

Are there attorneys who can erase items from your driving history?

Are there attorneys who can erase items from your driving history?

There are attorneys which can fix your credit history from the three credit reporting companies but are there attorneys that can help erase items from your driving record? I have two accidents reported in my Texas driving history of which, only one am I responsible for. The other one is not my fault but is tagged as "At fault" which is affecting my auto insurance premium rates. How can I get these negative items off of the history or at least have them neutralized so they don't negatively impact.

Online Auto auto insurance Quotes, are they safe and accurate?

Online Auto Insurance Quotes, are they safe and accurate?

I know several people who have submitted their information into one of the many "online auto insurance quotes" and now they have solicitors all over them, on their phone, emails, junk mail and even one case of Social Security Identity theft. So my question is: Are these online auto insurance quotes really safe? Doesn't it make sense to stay with a local auto insurance agent you can do business with either on the phone or in person.

Do I need a lawyer if someone caused an auto accident but I was not injured?

Do I need a lawyer if someone caused an auto accident but I was not injured?

I was recently in an auto accident caused by someone else running a red light. I plowed into them as I went into the intersection. It was my first accident and there were a few things I failed to do at the scene, but the authorities pretty much handled all the info. I also did notify my insurance company right away. Anyway, the other party was very quick to argue that I ran the red light and said she was injured and was hauled off in an ambulance. She wouldn't even talk to me except to argue that it was my fault and rolled up her window. I also believe she was on her cell when she ran it, but can't prove it or anything, except that it was already up to her ear after the impact. The other thing that stinks is that all the people sitting in their cars at HER red light she ran never stuck around as witnesses. I did have a passenger in my car who does agree my light was green. Anyway, I wasn't hurt, the front end of my car is wrecked and now leaking oil. I wasn't at fault and am afraid that, without witnesses and because she was injured, she's going to come after me in a "he said, she said" battle. Do I need a lawyer? Every time I search for car accident lawyers they always come back with "personal injury attorneys". I am not injured, so what do I do?

Need advice tuning an 04 Hyunda Tiburon (Tuscani) Automatic transmission?

Need advice tuning an 04 Hyunda Tiburon (Tuscani) Automatic transmission?

Hello,
I have had my 04 Tiburon for around 2.5 years now, it being my first car. Now I'm 20 and I'm tired of its low performance, but still satisfied with its control/handling. As stated in the title, the car is automatic, so some people think its pointless to do any mods to it.

Personally I would like a new faster car such as an Impreza, Evo, 350z, 99 Eclipse/talon AWD, 240sx, etc. But there rare, expensive, hard to insure, and fairly old, plus my Tiburon being my first car its kind of hard to part with. Currently I'm paying around $165 per month on insurance, which isn't all that bad compared to the 250+ that most pay for Mustangs.

Now anyway, I'm looking for a way to get the most out of my Tiburon for the least price, the parts that will give the best boost for my buck. I know Tiburon are frowned upon by the "tuner community" but I'm just wanting to have some fun for myself. I'm not looking to "deck it out" with 600hp or anything, just get it better than its 172hp and less torque.
And, I don't want to decrease its gas-milage much since its already sub-par at 18mpg city.

To clarify, an auto can be tuned well, I have seen a few that run extremly well while still looking good. A link is below to give an example of a nicley tuned one.

Please, if you only have negitive comments "Hyundai Sucks!," just do us all a favor and press Ctrl+F4.

To all that try helping, Thanks,
~Mortaltirant~

P.S. The only body mods I will make if any would be a new front bumper (the 04 to the 06 one), and a new rear b/c previous owner backed into a car leaving a lisence plate outline on it.

Getting out of a speeding ticket for auto insurance purposes?

Getting out of a speeding ticket for insurance purposes?

Is there a way I can get out of a speeding/failure to meet at a stop sign ticket? I really don't care about paying the ticket or court costs at all, but I just can not, really, really, can not pay the extra insurance money. I am paying out of state tuition AND I am in Architecture. Architecture is SUCH an expensive major. The police officer (whose name I can't even read on the ticket because it is just a scribble) gave me a ticket for speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign. I have always been a great driver, I never speed, I always stop at stop signs, I don't drink/text/talk over the phone and drive, I always have my seatbelt on. This one time I absolutely needed to get home at 2am I decide to go a little faster and yup, of course I get a ticket.

I don't want to lie, I was doing 36 on a 20 zone at the time, I admit it even though I honestly did not realize I was going at 36 I didn't' do it on purpose. I didn't think "hey I'm just gonna go faster because no one is around", I really honestly did not notice I was going at 36. But I am not sure about the stop sign thing. Honestly I was not paying much attention because I drive through this stop sign everyday but I distinctly remember there was a car already at the stop sign coming from the left so I HAD to stop. There was absolutely no one else coming from any of the four sides, so I might have not stopped completely but I did slow down almost to a stop and then kept going. Then like I said I was going at 36 on a 20 zone. This was at 2 a clock in the morning when there was literally not a soul around. The police officer was practically hiding in a dark, empty parking lot and came out of no where. I really don't want to make excuses for myself. I know what I did was wrong and I'll admit it. But this is my first ticket, and I really don't want t have to pay so much more money on my insurance for a slip as small as this one. My boyfriend was with mi in the car if that means anything. I really don't know, I've never had a ticket before.

I've been reading up on how to get out of a ticket, and a lot of people say it is good to talk to the officer, and I thought about doing it but the officer's name is not readable at all. He also completely misspelled my name. In Puerto Rico we use both my father's and mother's last names so I have two last names. Let's say my name is X, my father's last name is Y and my mother's is Z. In Puerto Rico it goes like X Y Z and since my license is from Puerto Rico that is how it is written in my license. But the police officer wrote X Z. So my name is wrong in the ticket. I don't know if that counts for anything, someone told me that if they misspell my name or the officer's it means the ticket is dropped. This seems unlikely but hey, like I said I really have no clue.

Again, I don't want to make excuses for myself, but I just can't afford extra insurance costs. I just cant…

Which is more important for a young adult ?

Which is more important for a young adult ?

Which is more important for a young adult ?

To pay for health insurance premiums or to pay for $ 150 Sneakers, $ 2000 Car Audio Systems, $ 1500 worth of Tattoos, $ 300 for a night of " clubbing " etc. ?

If the health care premiums are more important, why did so many people of all ages need the government to remind them how important it is to pay for their health insurance premiums before they pay for these other " essentials " ?

What is my auto insurance settlement worth?

by on Apr.04, 2010, under finance

Undecided Question

What is my insurance settlement worth?

On 9-11-2009, I was completely stopped on a two lane highway waiting to turn left. An inattentive driver rearended me going approximately 45 MPH and was cited for the accident. The other driver's car was totaled and my 2 month old car took about $15,000 in damage.

I was without my car (in a cheap rental) for about a month and a half when I received a call saying my car was fixed. Since that initial call, my car has been back to the shop three separate times fixing problems that were never fixed from the accident. The other driver's insurance company paid for all damages and the rental car.

On the medical side – I went to the ER the Tuesday after my accident (accident happened on Friday) becuase I was having some leg pain that just wasn't going away. I waited in the ER for 6 hours to have an ultrasound done on my leg (checking for clots) and for the doctor to tell me to go to my general practitioner. I went to my GP and he prescribed me to 12 "sessions" of physical theropy. It is worth mentioning that the ER, my GP's office and the PT's office are about a half hour of driving (each way) from my house. The PT said I had a sprained hamstring.

My leg is definately better now but I still get pain when I drive or the day after I run – I was and am a very avid runner. Due to the PT's orders, I was not allowed to run through the duration of my PT and was told to take it easy once I started; I first started running in January.

Today, I received my first settlement offer of only $750!!! This is MUCH less than I was expecting.

I have three questions:
1) Based on what I have stated above, what do you excellent members of society think my pain and suffering settlement should be?
2) Should I hold off on the settlement until my leg is COMPLETELY better?
3) Should I get a lawyer?

I appreciate any advice that this community can give.
