I am 16 years old and from st.cloud minnesota. I don't have a car yet but I want to get one from around $3000-$4000. I have to go with State Farm because my parents have it. I am a safe driver and I get good grades. Is there a way to get cheap auto insurance through state farm through any special deals? Thanks

I recently got my license, but haven't yet bought my own car, or my own auto insurance. The other night I was driving my boyfriend's car home from work – a very short distance, with his permission, when I got into a very minor accident in which I was ruled at fault. The police did come to the scene and filed an accident report. The other car received more damage than the car I was driving in, with some minor scratching on the door and a broken hub-cap. Because I am not insured, and my boyfriend is on his parent's insurance, I'm just not sure what is going to occur in this situation regarding how the other car's damage will be payed for. I understand my insurance, when I get my own over the summer, will automatically be higher, but I'm mostly worried about either A) having to pay for all the other car's damage out of pocket, or B) My boyfriend's parents having to pay higher rates because of the accident I got in. If anyone can give me any information about this situation, that'd be great!

Other Info: I would most likely only drive to school and the gym 5 days a week, less than 10 iles a day round trip.

Although I come from a very affluent family my parents are making me pay for most of my car If I am lucky they will give me a 10k allowance max.

So im 20 years old almost 21 living at home and ready to get my own auto insurance. My daily driver is a 1999 s-10 Blazer and for my playtime car im looking into a 2005 GTO. I know instantly thats a red flag cause im young, but thats why I want my own insurance. But the thing is….I talked to the insurance writer and they told me that even if im on my own insurance, if something serious happens to me in a auto related accident, they can still come after my parents assets and insurance since I live at home still. Is this true? also any tips for a young guy looking for independence with his own insurance?

my parents are seperated. my mom has excellent driving record and good policy.
if i get on her policy. can i drive the truck if its in my name ?

My parents are buying me my first car soon. My question is that I currently do not have auto insurance so if I drive off the dealership back home in my new BMW, will I get in trouble if I get caught? My brother has insurance on a different car, will it work if he drives it home? Thanks!

about a month ago i hit some ice and slid into a guard rail. i called CAA and my parents and it was towed to the auto shop. It came to over $1400 in damage (including body work). I paid for it all, which completely drained my accounts, and now, as further punishment, I am not allowed to drive it for 6 months unless they are in the vehicle with me.

My friends and their parents find that my parents are dealing with the situation a little too extreme because now they have to drive me back and forth to work, wasting gas, which is in another city.

I'm 18, pay for the insurance and fully paid off the all of the damage I did…and now I cant drive anywhere…. from your point of view- is this fair that they've completely halted all of my driving?

My 16th birthday is coming up in June. All i really would like is a car. But cars are expensive and I am really into Auto body, and mechanics. I can't get a job yet cause i'm 15. I did however get an interview at a resteraunt in our town. I go back in March for another interview cause they were maxed on their 15 year olds. I am hoping my parents will get me a project car..so that would be around $100-$1,000 and i'd like to make payments to them when i get a job. I am also going to write a paper on why i should get a car for my birthday. I have alot of reasons, but what are some reasons as to why i should get one?

I have a twin sister and she doesn't have her license..so I am going to have to drive us to school, and other places.
Plus it'd be nice to drive to my volunteer work (4 places)
If i need to go to the store or something I can just go.
Also when i get a job i want to pay for my gas, if they will pay my insurance.
I'm responsible and have never gotten into a wreck, and i've had drivers ed.
