The Grammy performance roster already boasts a galaxy of stars that includes Lady Gaga, Green Day, Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Pink, Taylor Swift and Maxwell. So, it just makes sense that the first round of presenters announced on Thursday (January 14) would match that star wattage. The Recording Academy unveiled the first group of presenters, which includes Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, the Jonas Brothers and LL Cool J. Also scheduled to present awards are actors Kristen Bell, Jeff Bridges and Josh Duhamel and musicians Norah Jones, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and ex-Beatle Ringo Starr.

The 52nd annual Grammys will air live at 8 p.m. ET on January 31 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will also feature performances from Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band. More performers and presenters will be announced soon. The show will feature live sets from all five of the Album of the Year nominees

In an attempt to garner the kind of success Disney Channel has had with Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and Jonas Brothers, they hired Nick Cannon to direct a movie about real-life pop trio School Gyrls.

In addition to the bubbly girlie group, the movie will feature cameos from some famous faces like Angie Stone, Pete Wentz, and of course, our beloved Justin Bieber.

School Gyrls premieres on Sunday, February 21, at 7 pm on TeenNick.

When Miley Cyrus first became a huge tween star, her mom, Tish, made her promise one thing: To live at home until she’s at least 20.

“I got out of that!” Cyrus, 17, recently told PEOPLE with a laugh. “I’m actually buying a place. I haven’t moved in yet. I’m still reconstructing and stuff.”

Her mother’s reaction? “She’s stoked,” says Cyrus, who adds that her new home is “really, really close” to her family’s current Toluca Lake, Calif., residence.

“My house is going to be gorgeous because my mom is an interior designer,” says Cyrus, whose new film The Last Song is in theatres now. “It’s like if your mom’s a clothes designer you’re always going to look great. My mom’s an interior designer so my house is going to be perfect all the time.”

The star decided to create “a really zen” space for her first home. “We did all these different things to make it a place that’s so chill,” she says. “Like all my couches are on the floor and I have pillows on the floor. It’s just serene – like my own kind of therapy.”

“My religion is love,” adds Cyrus, “so my door is always open for anyone who wants to come in. It’s a just a loving place.”

He isn’t engaged to Miley Cyrus, but Liam Hemsworth still feels like he’s a part of the Cyrus clan.

“Their whole family’s great,” says the Aussie actor, 20, who’s been dating his The Last Song costar, 17, since August. “They’ve always been super friendly to me and very welcoming.”

Does he consider the Cyruses his second family, especially since his parents live in Australia while he’s been working in the States?

“Yeah … pretty much,” Hemsworth told PEOPLE Wednesday after surprising the Boys & Girls Club with a private screening of The Last Song at the ArcLight in Hollywood. “I love their family. Her parents are great [and] they’re very friendly people.”

As for Miley herself, “she’s got such a big heart and [is] just so open,” he says. Filming with her was a breeze – even though their first kiss was in front of cameras – since “we always got along really well,” he says.

Adds Hemsworth, “We feel very strongly about each other.”

Miley Cyrus’s boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, opened the door to the pop singer’s heart – literally.

When the couple, who have been dating about 10 months, first met on the Tybee Island, Georgia, set of The Last Song, “he opened the door for me,” Cyrus tells Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show set to air March 31. “I was like, I have been in L.A. for three years and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me.”

That polite gesture made quite the impression on the 17-year-old: “I was like, wow, that is super impressive. I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job.’ He’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent.”

There were some early stumbling blocks, admitted Cyrus, who said she was taking a hiatus from dating when she met the Australian actor, 20.

“We started filming and at one point the chemistry was kind of awkward,” she said. “We were both like, I liked him a little bit, he liked me a little bit but it was awkward.”

But Cyrus finally informed Hemsworth: “Okay, you’re going to be my boyfriend,” and it’s been a smooth ride ever since – so much so that DeGeneres presented the happy couple with a set of bikes.

Just six months after losing her 16-year-old son Jett last January, Kelly Preston quietly decided to return to work by starring in The Last Song.

She made the decision “because Miley [Cyrus] asked me herself to play her mom,” Preston, 47, tells PEOPLE. “I was really moved. It was the perfect movie to sort of get my feet wet.”

As they filmed the Nicholas Sparks drama in Tybee Island, Ga., last summer, “Julie Anne [Robinson, the director], Adam [Shankman, the producer] and Miley took such great care of me,” says Preston, who brought her daughter Ella Bleu, 9, along for the trip. “They were wonderful with my schedule. I just worked a little bit.”

But she spent a lot of time bonding with Cyrus off screen. “We’ve been friends for awhile,” Cyrus told PEOPLE in January. “We got even closer on this movie so it was cool to spend the summer with people you really like.”

“I love her so much,” Preston says of her costar. “She’s such a good girl.”

The Last Song hits theaters March 31.

Hannah Montana stars Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus know how to plan a sneak attack: After inviting dozens of military families to fill the studio audience during the March 12 taping of the hit series, they surprised the audience by inviting them to take part in filming a concert scene for the show.

“My dad has always been super involved with the troops so [the producers] always try to find things that are close to our hearts and that we’re really involved in,” Miley, 17, told PEOPLE.

Adds Billy Ray, 48: “This past December I was in Afghanistan and Iraq and that trip inspired the writers to say let’s do an episode to say thank you to the troops.”

In between takes, all the kids in the studio audience – many of whom have parents who are deployed – were also given the chance to tape greetings to their moms and dads abroad.

“It’s going to be a satellite thing where the troops can see their kids. It’s really cool that they’re having the opportunity to say hi to a mom or dad they haven’t seen in a long time,” Miley explains. “I think that’s the coolest thing.”

A New Direction

With only seven episodes left to tape in the final season of Hannah Montana, Billy Ray can’t help but get sentimental about the series that launched his little girl into the spotlight.

“I’ve gotten to go through this entire journey with Miley and watch her grow not only as a little girl to a young lady but as an actress,” says the proud father. “For any daddy out there to get to go through that with one of their children, it’s an amazing journey.”

Says Miley, who stars in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks drama The Last Song: “I’ve gone these last five years of doing Hannah Montana with everyone telling me what to do and now it’s kind of up to me do what I think is right in my career and I’m just kind of going in my own direction.”

The last season – titled Hannah Montana Forever – will begin airing this July.
