I commute to university, and a good family friend (my neighbor) works there. Seeing as she makes my same trip daily, she has offered that I join her. I am paying for my own education so without her I take the bus (and wake up earlier), making me fortunate to have this arrangement. Therefore, I do my absolute best not to be a bother; whatever time she plans on leaving (early/late/on time), I am ready a few minutes ahead of time. On the days she stays home, I take the bus (I already pay for auto insurance; there's no need to drive/buy gas when public transit is available).

Yesterday, her husband and I were talking, and he feels (quite strongly) that I should pay to fill every other tank of gas. This leads me to two questions:

1) Is paying to fill every other tank too much?

2) I currently fill roughly every fourth tank, and buy her lunch about once a week. Is this sufficient, too much, or too little?

One thing that may (or may not) be of relevance: she will make the drive whether or not I'm with her.

I'm moving into an apartment with a friend here soon (hopefully at least) I have rent, utilities, cable, phone, auto insurance, etc covered.

I was wondering how much it would cost to feed just me? I don't eat that much, a slice of toast for breakfast with half a glass of juice, and then just fruit and/or a 100 calories pack of something similar for lunch during classes. So very little all day and then just dinner really? maybe a few snacks just to have in the apartment, chips or something that would prob last a week plus. I'd consider myself a somewhat smart shopper also, not the best and not the worst.

I'd ask my dad but our shopping is sporadic so I don't know if I could get a good estimate.

And also, about how much for toilet paper, beauty supplies, laundry detergent, etc, all the little stuff you don't think about.

I was on my way to meet a friend for lunch and sitting about 3 cars back stopped for a red light on a semi-busy street at 11AM…the woman behind me stopped and then when the light turned green she just starts moving again and hits me, then she backed her car up about a foot or so. I didn't get out of the car to check the damage I called the police to come out and file a report. The policeman came and upon checking her insurance and license found that she had insurance but her license was from another country and she'd never had it changed to a Georgia license after moving here (he told me she should have gotten a GA license within 30 days of moving here). She had a small baby in the car with her and was going to be taken to jail…she spoke English to me when she asked to use my phone but then played like she didn't know ANY english to the cop. I feel horrible for calling the police and getting her arrested…but I also feel like I was obeying the law, minding my own business and she HIT me!! Should I feel bad?

There's this girl whose a friend of a friend. I've met this girl through the friend. how? when I have lunch with the friend he usually also meets up with her. So at lunch we all talk and everyone seems to be getting along. she give him things like gum and then say do you want one to me. Anyways I sent her a message on facebook saying hey I sent you a friends request. How've you been? She sends a message back saying I'm good thanks for asking. However, the friends request still says pending confirmation.

I have a wonderful 3 year old boy! he is my world but i'm getting a bit concerned, he will NOT play with other kids. He will play alone for hours, he will let me play with him sometimes, but not often! he is spending a week with his father and his father has a roommate with a 3 year old as well and she loves playing with him but he gets mad and hits and kicks her because she wont leave him alone! He will however sometimes play with my 6 year old niece. I'm concerned because he keeps himself away, He is not shy and will talk up a storm, but when it comes to playing he would rather be alone, after he eat breakfast he goes to his room shuts his door and plays until lunch, its the same thing after lunch until dinner time, when i go up there he says go away mommy i'm playing! I just don't get why he wont play with other kids, and why he insists on being alone! He is extremely happy and smiles all the time he laughs, he seems super happy, he will play with dog and my cat just not other kids! is that normal at his age? Even in a daycare setting he plays alone in a corner.

Well last school year ( i was year me and this guy i have known for ages (been in my class since i was little lol) were getting really good friends, and we live near each other so we usually walked home together. We often hung around the same place at break and lunch and we would talk and have fun with loads of other people. I sat next to him in a few classes and we talked then too.

But ever since the begginning of this year he suddenly has just not talked to me. We dont hang out anymore, we never walk home together anymore, and we never talk. And in maths he was asked to hand out the books with another person and he gave my book to the other person and she told me that he said he didnt know who i was!

hello i am 13 year old i am trying to lose weight because i weigh 125 pounds and im about 4ft8 i think small for my age i eat an albran for breakfast and for lunch i eat a meat sandwitch with ham and musterd when i get home from school i eat a fruit usally peaches or apples things like that then i bring my dog for a walk about 30 mins but now i will go alone runnig almost the whole way and i lost pounds doing that but it comes back up now i way like 124 now and before i saw 123 so im not sure what to do please help me.

So today in class, I sit in the back of the class, my friend sits next to me. In front of my friend is one kid (Kid A), and his friend sits in front of me (Kid B). So when the teacher was looking at us, Kid A was stretching, and you could see his stomach a little bit. So Kid B pretended he was going to poke him with a pencil. I started to chuckle a little bit, because it was funny, and so did my friend, but my teacher thought otherwise, keeping all four of us after class. When everyone was close to leaving, I told her "Ms. Teacher, I did my work the entire class, and I just laughed, I didn't do anything wrong," and all she replied was "Sit!" (which she said twice to me. Then she said, "You guys know why you're in here, because of your behavior. I just had to, because I knew in my heart I didn't do anything wrong, I said "But I didn't do anything wrong though, I just laughed, I was on task the entire time." And she turns to me and starts literally screaming at me "You know what, this can either take 2 minutes or 10 minutes, so do you want to stop interrupting me?!" She went on to say that me and my friend reacted, and "encouraged" that behavior. Ok I admit, I should've stayed quiet, but I just felt the urge to speak, because I've never been held during lunch, and I was scared at what would happen. She should NOT have raised her voice at me like that, even my mom doesn't raise her voice like that at me. She shouldn't even be a teacher if she can't control her anger. I think she should have just kept Kid A and Kid B, because me and my friend just reacted to the situation, which does not encourage that behavior. We just got her as a teacher, and I think she should know by now that I'm very mature, and I'm not someone that encourage that behavior. I'm really mature for my age, and I don't condone that behavior, but come on, we're teenagers, lighten up! Should I tell my parents what happened? I don't want them to think that I did anything wrong, and I especially don't want them emailing her, however I will want them to email her if she docks my citizenship grade.

Also, on previous occasions, like yesterday, we were having a little "debate," and I said something similar as to what another classmate said, and she gave the class a lecture about how to have a debate. And today, she assigned an extra credit assignment, and I asked if one certain book would meet the requirements, and she gave me a pretty sarcastic answer, instead of just saying a simple "That book's fine."

I'm a straight A student, and I honestly don't appreciate the way that she yelled at me, and the way she answered my question.

Please bare with me for this long explanation. I should premise it by being upfront of the fact that I have had strong experiences of emotional and sexual abuse when I was a lot younger and am very socially anxious and have really no social outlet… which does make dating somewhat difficult

I’ve been involved with a man for 2 ? years. I met him online at a time when I had incredibly low self esteem and our first meet involved me getting tipsy and sexual contact (which I know is not the way to go if I want a relationship!).

After that he was basically persuing me for sex and I drew a line under my mistake and wrote the whole thing and him off. But he didn’t give up, and was contacting me every few weeks via text/msn/email. I think my confidence was so low that I responded to him when he got in touch, although I didn’t let it become ‘sex chat’ and kept telling him that it wasn’t going to happen again.

Six months after we had met he was still in touch and had calmed down with pushing sex and I actually felt like he may genuinely be interested in me. I knew he had started seeing someone, but my understanding was that she wasn’t a girlfriend and that it was in the early days of dating. He asked me out to lunch and I accepted.

The morning of the date I was incredibly nervous, I found myself really wanting to be with him in a relationship and I was petrified, I didn’t feel worthy at all, and I cancelled the lunch date and instead arranged to meet him for coffee in the afternoon (which I found easier to deal with). He was meant to meet me at the station, but texted me to come to his apartment, which I did.

He kissed me within five minutes of me arriving. He was very tender and sensual, I don’t think he was using me like he had done the first time. It became sexual again, but again, he was very respectful with me. I was very confused at what was happening, I hadn’t anticipated things going that way, I thought we were going to have a chat and get to know each other. I left shortly afterwards, I still don’t know if he wanted me to stay longer or not, I think I was too scared to put myself in the position where it may have been clear he wanted me to leave, so I cut it short.

We have met up maybe five or six times in the past two years with msn/text/email in between. It has always been me going to him (we live an hour or two apart) and it has often been at really awkward times in the early hours of the morning or literally just having sex then him telling me to leave. He has been sexually abusive and rough. He would have met me a lot more, except I wasn’t happy to do all the travelling and he wasn’t prepared to come to me.

I have always wanted a relationship and although it seems ridiculous, I was always hoping that we would end up in a relationship together. Having him in my life has cast a shadow over me getting to know other people and a few weeks ago I gave him an ultimatum. I said he could either start seeing me properly, exclusively and respectfully or I would change my phone number and email. I realise its not ideal to try and force things but i didn’t see what else to do. He replied and said he had been with someone for two years and was in love with her and also that he thought fidelity was artificial. He also said that he likes me and although doesn’t want a relationship with me, he doesn’t want to finish it. I said I cannot continue as it has and we agreed to be ‘mates’. Not that I really think he’s capable of being much of a mate, and I’m wary of him worming his way in again.

I don’t know what to do. I think I have a lot of work to do on my confidence before I am ready for a relationship and I don’t want things with him hanging over me as all he’s done is undermine my confidence further. And he cheats. The trouble is I feel like I’m waiting for him to get in touch. I’m such a soppy romantic, I keep thinking about the glimmers of when he treated me tenderly. Theres a voice in my head telling me just to cut him off, but I don’t think I’m strong enough. I can see myself going through and changing my details but then becoming depressed and panicing and initiating contact with him. Its a sad indicament of my life really, but I think my experiences when I was younger and current lonliness have made this thing with him feel so poignant and in a weird way has felt comfortable. I just want to move on from the whole thing and start to build my life.
