In 1970s, there were 1789 life insurance companies in the US. 18.9 million life policies were purchased in that decade. Average age of a life insurance agent was between 20-40 years old.

Today, there are only 1119 life insurance companies left. 11.4 million life policies were sold. Average age of a life insurance is agent is around 55-60 years old.

What do you think will happen in the future? I predict there will be less life insurance companies, less life insurance agents since they many will be retiring soon, and many families being unprotected.

My partner had his Canadian Life Insurance application turned down. The company said they are not obliged to give a reason why. I thought if we asked they need to give us an answer. Are life insurance companies legally obliged to give a reason and if so do you know a particular law we can quote them. Thanks so much.

How can I find out if any life insurance policies have ever been purchased on people in the past and present. I've emailed life insurance companies asking them this same question and never receive responses to my inquiries. I'd really appreciate any feed back on my questions so that I can put closure on some thoughts and/or possibilities.

I have applied for a life insurance policy. I have an std( not hiv) will they find out from the blood test.
Also do they tell the agent the result of the test and get into specifics?

I have a few health problems and I am looking for life insurance. I have sleep apnea (I use the machine), COPD (Chronic Bronchitis), and possibly Emphysema (tests being run). My doctor said that nothing is life threatening at this point.

we were looking at getting life insurance, but when reading through the fine print, it said the company was not insured or bonded, ect… there were 2 different kinds, I know one of the was FDIC but Im not sure about the other. is that normal?
