I'm from BC and am planning to work in Alberta. How long will BC insurance cover me before I need to get Alberta auto insurance?

My son is 21 and thinking about getting out on his own in the near future. He just got a great full time job and is thinking about moving closer to work with a roommate. How does auto insurance work? Can he stay on my policy or will he have to get his own? Right now the car is in my name and paid for. If he moves out I would like to put the car in his name but won't if it affects insurance options.

i'm 18 and i just aquired a new job about 20 miles away wich isn't bad but i get off at 3:00am and my mom isn't going for that. my bm is taking me but she said that i should get my license so i can just take her car. how does auto insurance work? will i have to have a down payment or something? my mom isn't putting me on her insurance and my bm has her own insurance but for less than six months, could i get on hers?

Hello, I am curious as to how my auto insurance policy would cover body damage to my car. I have comprehensive/collision coverage, as it is only a few years old and still owed by the bank. I accidentally ran into the side of my garage, and the front right side and bumper have scratches/dents in it. The nearest body shop quotes average in the 1800 dollar range for repairs, which I don't have. Can I have my insurance cover this, with a 500 dollar deductible, and if so, will it affect my insurance rates? My insurer is California State Automobile Association. Thanks.

My basic question is, if a car is insured, should the person driving it have insurance too? why or why not?

I am trying to have some front end damage repaired on my 03 Corolla. I have a $500 dollar deductible and the estimate is for a little over $900. I have a friend who has the knowledge and ability to repair the auto (12 years in the industry) and he is willing to do the repairs without me paying the deductible. What can I expect from the insurance company. Will they allow him to do it? Will they accept aftermarket parts? What type of final inspection will they require? Will I be able to accomplish this utililzing my friend. I have no doubt he can do a satisfactory job but will the insurance company work with me. I know the rules probably vary from company to company but any general advice on how to approach them or what to expect will be appreciated.

Thinking of trying to become a home adjuster. I want to be able to do something on the side and I could do home inspections for real estate agents. I've been on plenty of insurance sites (allstate, state farm, etc) and I can't get much info about home insurance at all. Plenty of auto adjusters but I do not want to deal with cars.

Do insurance companies have home adjusters or do they use outside companies?
