California auto insurance?

my daughter bought a used car and was told by the seller that he would keep his insurance on the car for a couple of weeks so she could find her own insurance. Well a couple of days later she was pulled over and when the cop asked for her insurance papers, they were not in the glove box. Now we can not fond the seller to get a copy of his insurance. Does anyone know how we can find out which insurance company insured the car? When you register your car does DMV write down your insurance information? I added her car to our policy the same day she got the ticket. Any help would be appreciated. The ticket amount is $1100.00! Thanks Gary

What is the best candy paint color?

What is the best candy paint color?

I have a 02 Honda Accord Ex V6. It has an Organic Green Candy job on it. I bought it this way off a car lot. Come to find out the paint job wasn't done up to standards so to speak. Car people and Auto Shops knew right away. Not average Joe. Some guy back into me and now I'm having to go to all kinds of body shops to see about getting it fixed (insurance claim his fault). So a lot of the body shops Ive gone to (5) have all said the same. So the paint is irreplacable… so Im wondering what will the insurance company do? Will they pay for the car to be completly repainted? Or will they be butts. Hmm what do you guys think

auto auto insurance auto insurance Claim Check (Farm Bureau auto insurance)?

auto insurance Claim Check (Farm Bureau Insurance)?

Okay, I hit a coyote lastweek and I informed my Insurance company ( Farm Bureau Insurance). They told me to go get an estimate. I went to a auto body shop, the guy took notes. I waited all week for the Auto Body to get back with me, and so did the Insurance Company. The Insurance Company finally just had an adjuster come out and asses the damages. They wrote a repair bill for 527.00 plus my 500.00 deductable. So in all it was 1,027.00- I knew that this was WAY to low of an ajustment. So I called the Manager of the Insurance company told him my feelings on the matter, and whom ever came out missed many things (wires, two light's, etc) I was going to get another estimate, and he said okay to my surprise!! I did — and it was 800.000 dollars more damage done (which we all thought)! The insurance Company was trying to low ball me. Been with them 10-years, full coverage, and two homes as well. Havent filled a claim in 6-years. I re-faxed the Manager the new adjustment from the Body Shop (A diffrent one by the way), Called and spoke with Manager as well. Will the Insurance Company make the check out to me or the Body Shop now? In the past it have always been made out to me or wife. (In ten years only two small claims) State is Oklahoma if this helps any. So in short will I get a check, or will they sent the check to the Auto Body since they faxed them a diffrent estemite? I'm using the money to get about 90% of it done at the Body Shop, but there are a few things I can fix myself. Is there any type of Law they have to send the check in my name? My fear is they will just mail the Body Shop the Check with the owners name, and this means I will have to pay more out of my pocket. Thanks. 5- point's as always.

auto insurance verification?

Undecided Question

Insurance verification?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone out there knows the process that DMVs/ Patrol Officers use to verify auto insurance policies. Is there a database they look them up in? Do they just call the insurance company? How do they verify that insurance cards are "the real deal?"

Can we have auto auto insurance reform now?

Can we have auto insurance reform now?

Think about it, we could do away with pre-existing conditions for auto insurance. In other words you could go out and buy a wrecked Toyota from a salvage yard, put insurance on it and the insurance company would have to pay for the damages to the car before you insured it or even owned it. Its only fair, right?

If you got into an auto accident?

by on Apr.05, 2010, under finance

If you got into an auto accident?

You got into an auto accident and no one got a ticket but, you used someones car, there was no insurance, and that person was legally disabled. The state sent them a letter saying they had to turn in their license and tags. The person filed an appeal and the state did not take the license or tags but, the person with the disability cannot renew their tags due to the accident that the other person had in her car. That person needs the vehicle for Doctor's appointments for her and her Mother who has MS. They live in a small town where there is no public transportation and no one to transport them. Is there any exemption for that person so she can get the tags for her vehicle? She is on SSi and cannot afford an attorney and legal aide said they do not handle cases like that. The insurance company totaled the other persons vehicle when it only had a dent in the rear passengers door for $10,000.00. I have searched the web all day and cannot find a thing. I live in Texas but, she lives in Iowa. Legal advice would sure be appreciated. I don't know how to help her. Thanks.

How should I report this auto damage? Hit and run or collision?

How should I report this auto damage? Hit and run or collision?

I accidentally ran my girlfriends car into the back of a truck in rush hour traffic a while back. Unfortunately I was not covered under her insurance at the time so we did not report it right away. Also there was no damage to the other girls' truck so they did not report it to any agency.

So what I'm wondering is how bad would our insurance go up if I reported it now? It's a $500 deductible and the estimates are saying around $2-3000. Also my license is out of state, so I'm hoping that doesn't matter. I am also now insured under her policy.

Also I would like to know what the chances are of getting away with reporting the incident as a non-collision. That is, telling the insurance company it was like that when we came out of a store one day. Do they have any way to analyze the damage and see what really happened or am I just watching too much CSI?

Also the damage is pretty minimal, bent hood, slightly broken grill, slightly bent fender. Could look like someone just backed into it, but hey I'm no expert.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

ps – I live in California if that matters

auto accident for work comp?

Auto accident for work comp?

I got into a car accident on January 28, 2010. It was the other person's fault and he received a traffic ticket on the police report. The car I was driving is my friend's car, it was totaled. At that time I didn't go to the hospital. I told my friend's insurance company, I needed to go see doctor, because of i was on the clock while I got the accident, so I need to get worker comp. After like 2 weeks, my back shoulder was hurting me so much that I needed to go the Emergency room. I been doing therapy on my back. I been telling my manager of this regard. It was new to her, she wasn't sure the procedure is. It took her a while to find out. She filed worker comp on Feb 19,2010, but until now I still haven't receive the claim number for my medical bill yet. Will this be a problem, because of the new regulation on 2/1/2000 must be notify your carrier within 30 days? On this saturday, my car accident will reach 30 days. So I am very concern about pasting the date, that they won't cover my medical expenses.
