Pa. auto Insurance 100 mile from home college student discount law.?

I live in the state of Pennsylvania. My question is does anyone know if Pa. auto insurance laws don't allow insurance companies to give you a discount on your rates if you have a college student attending school at least 100 miles from home. I recently saw this on the Motley Fool site about how to save money on your auto insurance rates. When I contacted my agent she said Pa. doesn't allow such a discount. Thanks

Why would I want government run health auto auto insurancee…?

Why would I want government run health care…?

Did you know the insurer with the most denial of claims is Medicare…?

I could have figured, because I had to write to Medicare for my [then] mother-in-law for a claim she filed for an injury she received at her neighbors, they subsequently denied, because the neighbor's insurance company "should be responsible"… So, I wrote to medicade and told them they needed to take it up with the insurance company, that they were her provider, and that they needed to cover her claim…

Took 6 months, and my mother-in-law being turned over to collections, before they paid the claim O.o

What do you think…? Government owning insurance companies and health care facilities…gives government approximately 48% ownership of America…added on top of the lending institutions and the auto industry…

Cap and trade on utilities will put them over half ownership…

Why do people use Met Auto auto insurance?

Why do people use Met Auto insurance?

Or All-State, or Progressive for that matter? My insurance rates are ridiculous because of my age and since I've had an accident, so I've been shopping around. I've learned that through Met Life and Auto I get a 20% discount from my employer, but even with that my monthly payment for $1,000 deductible is $365.00 (yes I said monthly, $415.00 for the smaller deductible).

All-State and Progressive quoted me similar prices. So I called a couple of places that I've never heard of before, that offer the EXACT same benefits, and one of them quoted me for $200.00 a month. So I am saving over $160.00 for using a company that isn't a big name, and there's no coverage differences.

I guess I just don't understand why more people don't use the "non big name" insurance companies if they can save you this much money.

How do I get affordable insurance after dui non-conviction?

State farm is canceling my auto insurance after a company called ChoicePoint inc. reported info. from the DMV about reinstatement of license, Chemical test modification and Chemical test revocation. I was arrested for a first offense and plea bargained to jump though all the hoops, pay all fines in order for it not to result in a conviction. Are there any insurance companies out there that do not purchase info. from ChoicePoint?

Will I have to include my brother in my auto policy?

Will I have to include my brother in my auto policy?

I currently have a liability policy with american family insurance. Five months ago I let my brother take my car to the gym. On his way back he wrecked it and was responsible for the accident. My insurance covered the other party, and I had to pay 1243.00 in damages to my vehicle. Now my agent is saying that underwriting is mandating my brother to be included on the policy–it's an extra 65 dollars. He won't pay for it, and I can't. I learned my lesson; I don't let anyone else drive the car. Now I need to cancel my policy and switch insurance companies to avoid having to pay the additional premium for my brother. Will other insurance companies oblige me to do the same with regards to my brother?

Should I wait to change auto auto insurance?

Should I wait to change auto insurance?

I will be 25 years old at the end of March and am currently paying around $99 monthly for insurance. I received my permit in New York when I was 16, and received my full license at 17 after taking a driver's education course, so I've been a driver for nearly 8 years now. I found a better deal through GEICO with same coverage, but with a premium around the $44-$49 range monthly.

Would it be more beneficial for me to wait until I turn 25 to switch? Or should I change my insurance companies now? I haven't been in an auto accident in 6 years (that one was no fault), and haven't had a ticket in four years. Would the insurance change my policy's pricing in the middle of coverage?

My auto auto insurance was impounded without my consent. what should I do?

My car was impounded without my consent. what should I do?

Hello, I am currently twenty two years old and purchased my first car, a silver 2001 Hyundai Elantra last year around Aug of 2008 from a private owner. I first saw this car sitting in a gas station parking lot right off of banister road with a for sale sign placed in the window. I asked questions about the vehicle and eventually went on to purchasing it. I registered the car, paid for insurance threw AAA, and American Family. I have license plates in which I recently updated not to long ago.

On the 7th of January, I had a car accident, which resulted in a total loss of my car. Gratefully I was not at fault, and the other driver had insurance. The Car is no longer drive able, and was towed to Richards Auto Salon in Grandview Missouri Threw lazer Tow Company. A day after the accident, both my and the other drivers insurance companies where notified of the accident with the police report and all other necessary information. The other drivers insurance company had set up a rental car for me to use in the mean time.

A couple weeks pass, and on the 25th of January I receive a call from the other drivers insurance company stating that my car is no longer at Richards auto salon, and had been towed away by Grandview police. I proceeded in calling Richards Auto Salon and learned that Grandview Police had ran the VIN number on my car around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, and towed it away for reasons unknown. I have a clean record, and did not understand what was going on. Calling the Grandview police dept, the only thing they could tell me is that Kansas City police dept had a stop order issued out for it. They could not inform me why either.

Now I've been going between Grandview police dept and Kansas City police dept, trying to get answers for a day and a half before I finally learned that The stop order was issued sometime in 2007, much before I even purchased the car. Something had happened with this car much before I owned it, but in order for me to have it released for the insurance company to pick up I have to pay for the towing fee and for the days it stayed there overnight. I spoke with the Kansas city police dept further and showed them the title for the vehicle, proving that it was registered and in my name as of August of 2008, and that I had nothing to do with what happened with the vehicle before then. The only response they gave me was to count my losses and pay the fees at the tow lot.

My Issue is why must I pay for something I had no knowledge of? My car was towed away without my, or the owner of Richards Auto’s consent. My car was not sitting on the street, it was sitting on private property when the police came and ran the VIN number at 3 AM Sunday morning. I don’t know what I am to do about the car because I do not have the money to pay to have it released. I do not know what to do about this situation and why they cannot release the car without me having to pay. This is really an injustice to me, also very inconvenient.
