Is it true that depending on your net worth, you should get more or less auto insurance? I'm a college student so I only work part-time and only have a modest amount saved up. The value of my car is about $4000. Right now I have 50000/100000 for injury, 50000 property damage, and 50000/100000 for uninsured or under-insured motorists. I have no comprehensive or collision coverage. I can not afford those. But liability wise, am I good or would it be OK to buy less or should I buy more auto insurance? I am not on my mother's insurance policy because with her being in another state, and the car being garaged with me, it's not worth it and I'm not sure if it's possible

Or All-State, or Progressive for that matter? My insurance rates are ridiculous because of my age and since I've had an accident, so I've been shopping around. I've learned that through Met Life and Auto I get a 20% discount from my employer, but even with that my monthly payment for $1,000 deductible is $365.00 (yes I said monthly, $415.00 for the smaller deductible).

All-State and Progressive quoted me similar prices. So I called a couple of places that I've never heard of before, that offer the EXACT same benefits, and one of them quoted me for $200.00 a month. So I am saving over $160.00 for using a company that isn't a big name, and there's no coverage differences.

I guess I just don't understand why more people don't use the "non big name" insurance companies if they can save you this much money.

I have a clean record with no tickets and multiple coverages (auto,home,motorcycle). How much though will my insurance go down on average after turning 25?

my daughter bought a used car and was told by the seller that he would keep his insurance on the car for a couple of weeks so she could find her own insurance. Well a couple of days later she was pulled over and when the cop asked for her insurance papers, they were not in the glove box. Now we can not fond the seller to get a copy of his insurance. Does anyone know how we can find out which insurance company insured the car? When you register your car does DMV write down your insurance information? I added her car to our policy the same day she got the ticket. Any help would be appreciated. The ticket amount is $1100.00! Thanks Gary

I am selling my house and buying a new one at the end of the month. I'd like to combine my homeowners and auto and motorcycle insurance all together to get the cheapest rates and combined discounts. What's my best bet? Also, I am a AAA member.

Just wondering because one of my friends says she only pays half of her auto insurance a month and she is paying $300 and that seems pretty steep.

I've heard that "performance" modifications can void an auto insurance policy. Is this true? If so, what is considered a void worthy mod?

I do not have auto insurance so When I rent a car is Secondary insurance a replacment for insurance I do not have?
