for instance, a red car will typically be more expensive than, say, a tan car. my girlfriend says 2-door cars also raise the price cuz then they're automatically considered a sports car, but i doubt that… though theres gotta be some truth to the 2door being more expensive, but only on certain makes, so you shouldn't use it as a general rule of thumb, right?

I am a teenager and will be getting my license soon but need as many discounts as I can. I will be driving a 94 Acura Integra LS and I'm a male, and still with all these discounts it $960 every 6 months!! Any other discounts I can qualify for?

So I got a 6 month bill to renew my auto insurance and previously, I was paying about $1200 for 6 months for 4 cars. Now, its at $2200 for 6 months. I called the insurance company and they said I had a car accident, which was not my fault, back in April 2009. They also said there was property damage claim on June 2007, which I or any of the drivers in my policy had. I question them about the June 2007 incident, and they have no data or information about it. So they kept transferring me to another person several times and putting me on hold for over 2 hours. Finally, they say they will call me back and that was over a week ago.

So I got several quotes online such as Geico, State Farm, Progressive, Travelers, etc. (all final quotes, not estimates), and they were more expensive than what I currently have. I'm guessing it has something to do with the June 2007 incident, which never happened. Or maybe it was the car accident in April 2009, which was ruled not my fault.

Who should I talk to about the erroneous June 2007 incident?

For starters I am for the most part completely ignorant as to the workings of auto insurance or really.. anything involving cars.. so bare with me.. I'm trying to figure out how to get insurance as a primary driver

I'm an 18 year old male still in school with a full G license, the car is a 1995 ford model worth only.. 1000 $ max, it's 2 door, I have a 75%+ average in school, I have no prior accidents or tickets. Essentially perfect as far as all the "variables" that effect insurance rates go. Yet when i got quotes online they are still telling me I have to pay 380 $ monthly. What the ****? On average I only make about 400 or 500 a month.. adding on gas money to that my cost of living is practically negative from just drive to and from work?

So I guess what I'm asking is.. Is teenage auto insurance even possible without help from mommy and daddy or dropping school to work more? Can anyone link me or give me the name of auto-insurance companies that give the best rates for Teens? Anything in the 2000-3000 $ range a year would be perfect

I wasn't expecting it but my mom told me she will no longer be driving. Her car is 5 years newer than mine and she told me should take over her car and get rid of mine. Since my car still runs well I felt I would keep it a little longer. I checked with the insurance company and I acted like we are going to sell her vehicle. I just felt it shouldn't matter which car i drove since they are similar in size. The insurance company said I would have to turn in her plates. Does auto insurance cover any car I drive and if I want to keep 2 cars for now do I have to tell the insurance company and will they allow it if I pay more for insurance?

My car has a busted side-view mirror and an enormous crack in the windshield. The crack was a dime sized dot for two days, then a cold snap hit and now it's across the whole bottom part of the windshield. I never had time to take it to be fixed, which is really irritating, since now it looks like I'll have to have the whole windshield replaced. The mirror probably will be too. The glass is completely gone and the frame is severely cracked. Argh.

Anyway, I don't know anything about cars except how to put gas in them and change a tire. Do I take this to a body shop? The dealer? About what should I expect to pay? I have a cheap insurance policy with a high deductible so I'm expecting to cover most of the cost out of pocket.

Hello. We have 3 cars (a 2007 Toyota Camry, a 2008 VW Jetta, and a 2001 Buick Century) and we are paying approximately 280 dollars a month as of our current insurance plan. It is about to expire, so I was wondering if anyone is aware of better plans (full coverage) that are available out there.

lets face it times are tough and the economy is gone to s#it .. But illegals are doing better than people that pay taxes. They work have cars cellphones they have rights and dont have to pay auto insurance do to a loophole they have found. The guys that stand outside of home depot have a mobile clinic that provides them with all types of medicine and doctors visits. they live in apartments and dont sign leases . Id rather be an illegal .. the right to vote is too expensive and most of the time the laws that pass dont help taxpayers anyway… Being deported every now and then doesnt seem so bad its like a unexpected vacation especially if you go volintarilly and have 200 dollar on you .. you can live of off that for months untill you need to make more money and do it again.

I was in a car accident today. It was the other driver's fault she admitted to the police that she was doing 60+ on a 40, she slammed her brakes but she couldn't stop so she rear ended me and made me hit the car in front of me, anyways the car I hit was scratch less (go figure) but my cars rear and front bumper will need replacement her car was almost totaled. I have liability insurance (96 honda) and she has Full-cover I would just like to know what's going to happen now? I have never being in a car accident before Will my insurance go up (I'm 19)?? will her insurance pay my damages??

Basically, Gieco foundout That my son is a driver, and he isnt willing to pay for the 1000 incresment in his part of the insurance, we basically went from 650 on 2 cars for 6 months to 1500. Now he doesnt want to pay for that, because 1500 is basically 1 months check.

Can I legally have 2 differnt insurance companies on 2 different cars?
