Todd Bridges Hopes Corey Haim Is at Peace
by admin on Apr.06, 2010, under celeb gossip
Corey Haim, Corey Feldman and Todd Bridges in July 2007
- In 2008, Todd Bridges appeared on an episode of the A&E reality show The Two Coreys in an attempt to help Corey Haim get sober. Now, hours after his friend died at age 38, the Diff’rent Strokes star is adding his voice to the number of celebrities paying tribute.
“Corey Haim was a good friend of mine and he will be missed,” Bridges says in a statement. “Too many people are dying way too young and it’s sad because of the loved ones who are left behind to understand what happened and to feel the loss. I hope he’s in a better place.”
Bridges also says he hopes that Haim’s passing will help people who are struggling with sobriety to look closely at their lives.
“I will always love my Brother, and I will never judge him,” his statement continues. “I understand his pain, but I also know now there is a way out. I hope anyone who is dealing with the same stuff gets out before it’s too late. Don’t let the death of others fool you into thinking that it cannot happen to you. If you play with fire, you will get burned.

Marie Osmond Makes Emotional Return to Performing

Marie Osmond
- With tears in her eyes and her voice shaking at times, Marie Osmond donned her bravest face Tuesday night as she took to the stage for the first time since the death of her son for a show that she dedicated to him.
“The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing,” she told the audience at the Flamingo Las Vegas, performing one day after the funeral. “That’s what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him.”
The crowd in the sold-out showroom applauded her throughout the 90-minute show, giving her a standing ovation when brother Donny said, “I think we need to give a big round of applause for my sister for even coming on stage.”
Though saying the show would be a little different than others, Osmond fought through her emotions and remained largely on schedule. Taking a moment to introduce an opera song, she spoke of her Mormon faith helping her through the past week before dedicating the song to her son Michael Bryan, 18, whom she called “my angel.” Michael took his own life on Feb. 26.
While going back to change into her outfit for the song she told herself to “pull it together.”
With Marie off stage, Donny marveled at her ability to perform Tuesday, calling her a “strong woman” and saying, “I hope you all appreciate what she’s going through tonight.”
But despite their grief, the duo did have fun on stage, performing in a dance-off, with Marie joking about her brother’s dancing skills. Donny was very quick to point out that he won Dancing With the Stars. Marie, in turn, challenged her brother to dance in heels as she had done on the show.

As the Vegas performance neared an end, Marie continued to smile but appeared overcome with emotion as she wiped away tears and struggled to finish the evening’s final song, “It Takes Two”.
After the music stopped and crowd came to its feet, Donny simply walked to his sister and hugged her.

Marie Osmond
- A day after laying to rest her 18-year-old son, Michael Bryan, and less than two weeks after putting her Las Vegas show on hold, Marie Osmond takes the stage Tuesday night for a sold-out Donny & Marie show.
“It is important for Marie and her children to get back to a routine that is comfortable for all of them and be together as much as possible,” a close friend tells PEOPLE. “They’re all together and doing their best to return to work and school.”
All 720 tickets for the show at the Flamingo Las Vegas were snapped up. The hit show took a temporary break after Michael committed suicide on Feb. 26 in Los Angeles.
“The fans have been so wonderfully supportive of her throughout this tragic time and thanks to them and the love and support of her family and faith, Marie is just trying to get through this very sad time,” the family friend says.
It wasn’t known how – or whether – Osmond or her brother Donny would address Michael’s death, though the 90-minute show does feature several portions of ad-libbing.
A Flamingo Las Vegas source says the hotel has been flooded with requests from people inquiring on where to send flowers and well wishes. “Everyone has really been rooting for her,” the source says.
Flamingo Las Vegas announced that there will be five extra show dates from April 13-17 to accommodate those who had tickets to recently canceled shows.

Newly hired valet parking attendant – insurance responsibility?
In the interview, I was asked if I was insured, which I am. But, my brother told me one of his friends did the same thing, and the whole problem with the employer not providing parking valet insurance for his employees, anytime the valet causes a ding or a dent, the valet's own personal insurance premium raises to $500 to pay off that one incident, and $500 for each incident that occurs.
Can anyone clarify the responsibilities I have with my own auto-insurance, while working, if the employer hasn't specifically elaborated on their company even having a parking insurance to cover its employees?

In a Financial Pickle need advice bad!?

Undecided Question
In a Financial Pickle need advice bad!?
I am in a situation that I really need help/advice on which path to take. Last year around Feb./March, me and my brother decided to switch cars, both which were and still are under auto loans, one being a 2001 Audi TT(which was my brothers, but is mine after the switch) and a 2006 Eclipse(which was mine until the switch to my brother). We both agreed that we would pay each others loan payment on time. Well about the beginning of summer last year my brother blew the clutch in the Eclipse. He got it fixed and all was well. At the mid of the summer of last year my brother yet again blew the clutch and flywheel. He put it in a shop to be looked at, and after finding out that he had to pay to fix the clutch and flywheel again, he went out and bought another car instead of fixing the Eclipse. About the beginning of August, I start getting calls from the loan place for the Eclipse stating that it is two months behind on payments. My brother, also my roommate, told me he lost his job and was in the process of finding another so that he could catch up on the payments and fix the car, and asked if I could help him out. I said no problem as I didn't want a repo to happen in my name. After awhile my brother got a job and was making a few monthly payments, with help form me here and there. About mid December I get two calls, one from the loan place for the Eclipse and the shop in which my brother has let the car sit for close to 6 months without staying in touch with the mechanic, and had accrued a $3,000 storage fee for just letting it sit there. The loan place says that the car is 3 months behind in payments ,and somehow learned that the Eclipse was in the shop for 6 months, had threatened me with a Repo. Me not wanting a repo on my credit, franticly made a deal with the loan place to pay the three months, and to get the car out of the shop. I paid the three months payment for the Eclipse, and was able to talk the mechanic from $3,000 to $300 (I kinda knew the guy, and let him know the situation), and took it to another shop. I took the car from my brother, because he does not have a steady job to make the payments or to get the car fixed. The shop quoted me $3,000 for the car to be fixed. On top of all this mess, I get a letter from the Eclipse loan place stating that insurance has not been kept on the car, so they added their coverage( 2 x $2,700 ) to the loan, which drastically raised the monthly payment.
I have kept up on my half of the bargain and still pay and drive the Audi, as it is my only means of transportation. I do have a family to support, and with the drastic jump in monthly payments on the Eclipse as well as the $3,000 mechanic fee, I am unable to afford it. I am unsure what legal action I have as me and my brother did not sign anything. What should I do. Should I bite the bullet and do a volunteer repo of the Eclipse and be forced with the fees since the car is in my name, or is there any legal action that I can take to have my brother take responsibility for his own mess?
