okay, last december 2005 I was involved in a minor car accident due to weather conditions, and I had to pay my auto insurance company a "500 deductible" to repair the damages that I made to my vehicle, so they had fixed it. This august of 2007, I recieve a letter from my insurance policy attorney stating that I am being sue by the plantiff of the vehicle that I hit. Why I'm being sued if I was cover by my insurance policy and the plantiff car, and is there anything I can do to defend myself. Because they should go after my insurance company if they didn't pay for the plantiff car…. not me.

There was an auto insurance commercial whose gimick was that they provided you with not only their rates, but the rates of their competitors…what insurance company was that?
I haven't seen that particular thing being adverstised in a few months-and I cant remember what the company was…either geico, progressive..i cant remember?!!

Okay heres the deal in a nutshell. My father, mother, wife, kids and I were going on a vacation is amish country in ohio where we live. We were on the way back from dinner when a can full of teenagers pulled out in front of us and we hit them. The driver of the other car was cited for the accident and did not have insurance. I have had to make some trips to the chiropractor for my neck and everyone else was fine(thank god). My fathers insurance company promised me that there was a allocated fund in his policy for uninsured motorist or underinsuured. They promised me that they would take care of everything. Well the doctor visits are still not payed for. The claim rep with my dads insurance company is demanding my auto insurance info becuase he says a lot of times they will split the bill. Well after speaking with me insurance company they said that it would leave a claim against me that may be a factor in cost when renewal comes up. Which I do not want to do. I do not see how they could demand this. My father says that I should sue him and that his insurance company has to represent him in the case to get is settled a little quicker. The insurance company keeps switching reps on this case. What should I do. I have never been involved in a senerio like this.

Undecided Question

What's the cheapest auto insurance company in NJ for someone who is a first time driver and doesn't have anyone elses insurance to go off of? I keep getting different quotes, rangeing between 200-400$ a month, which is a little bit insane. Are these quotes just accounting for things that I don't really need?

I was told that if I added my home owners insurance to their company that I would save a bundle on both the auto and the homeowner policy. At the time, I had the same homeowner company for over 25 years and was happy with my policy but they looked at the policy and said they could offer me the same coverage at the same price. So, of course, I switched and admittedly never looked at the policy until I had a recent claim. Now, I find that the policy that I was switched to was NOT the same coverage I had at…not even close. I now have a 1% deductible instead of $500 and I also now have "actual value" instead of replacement cost coverage. Needless to say, I'm angry and feel I have no recourse since I admit I didn't read over the policy…I trusted the agent , since I had my auto insurance with them for over 30 years. Has anyone ever had this happen to them and what, if anything, can be done about this?

I have a 1997 geo metro, I don't drive much everything is around me and I work out of my house, I just want basic coverage at a cheap rate.

Can anyone recommend a "specific" company in California that they use and was either told or knows that they are a low cost agency? Thanks for your help.

how does my auto insurance company know if I own my home? do they just take my word for it?
