My auto insurance company told me that if I'm in an accident and I don't have enough auto insurance I can be sued and possibly lose my home. I never heard of anyone losing their home because of an auto accident. If I have a good driving record, how much insurance do I really need and can I really lose my home if I don't have enough? and how do you collect from someone who doesn't have any insurance? It seems stupid to carry uninsured insurance if I can sue someone for damages.

I need a new auto insurance company, Allstate just raised my rates through the roof. But I don't want it to be an unreliable company that will drop me for one little crack in my winshield. State Farm and all those companies are too expensive for me (I am a teenager and work part-time). I live in CA. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to work out a settlement with the auto-insurance company over an injury that happened last December. They're offering $3,500, but we want $5,000. I was wondering how much it would cost them in legal fees, and lawyer costs if we were to bring this to court. It could help in our bartering if we know they'll be saving money just settling. I'm thinking about getting into auto insurance sales. Anyone with knowledge know which company offers the best perks, leads, commission etc?

I live in California and have 2 vehicles.

(1) 2002 Honda CRV: I need full coverage for it.
(2) 1970 Ford F100 pick-up truck: This is used only for dump runs and I drive it less than 8 days/year (about 100 miles total).
I have been paying full annual prices to keep the truck insured but think that is absurd.

Does anyone know of an auto insurance company that will insure both but quote a reduced rate for the truck?

P.S. I'm a 51 yr old female and have a clean driving record.

Yesterday I received a letter from my auto insurance company about an accident I had more than 15 months ago. What happen during the accident was that I was making a left turn as the light has turned red for a split second, but the other person from the opposite direction sped up trying to run through the light and our cars crashed heavily. My car was pushed back for about 15ft while his car stayed at the same place. However, after the collision, we got out of the car and nobody was injured from either sides. He has another passenger with him while I was driving alone. The police and paramedic came and asked if anybody was injured, but there was no injuries so the paramedic left right away. In the police report that I received a few weeks later, there was no injuries listed in it.

In the letter they said that the other party is demanding a huge amount of money for medical bills and injuries claims. Here is what they are demanding: "Anthony XXXX demands $15,500 based on medical bills of $5738.30 and injuries include: Chest wall contusion, cervical/thoracic/lumbar sprain/strain, muscle spasm and Cervicalgia. The demand for Roxanna XXXX is $100,000 based on bills of $33,830.80 and injuries include: Lordosis, cervical/thoracic/lumbar sprain/strain, right hip and thigh sprain/strain, chest wall/rib contusion."

So what am I supposed to do with this claim? My insurance policy only has a limit of $30K. Will I be sued for the remaining amount? I'm a poor college student with no income or properties so what is going to happen if I get sued? I've been having a headache since yesterday worrying about this matter and couldn't concentrate on anything else or even stay focus during class. Please give me some advice on this matter as this was the first accident I ever had and don't have much experience on how it will be settled. Thanks for your time.

I noticed someone posted that their auto insurance rates went up since they are unemployed. I have been unemployed since February and my rates stayed the same. I don't tell the insurance company that I lost my job. How will the insurance company know if I am working or not?

Seems I'm seeing this line of redirect, on more of a regular scale, than I have before, as of late… While I, along with everybody else… Am not at all, a happy camper with any insurance company, & just recently… Had my auto insurance company, tell me I had to pay, a very little under $1500.. Instead of my $500 deductible.. For some hail damage, on my truck… I'm still, not all that certain, I'm ready to go as far, as calling them terrorist… Granted, it is Osasa bin Laden's plan, to bankrupt this country, & the insurance company's, starting with AIG… Seem to not be, very patriotic, in a time this country needs to pull together… Thinking more in terms of profit, than patriotism… As the redirect continues, statements are made.. About politicians, excepting huge contributions, for insurance company's… Then calling those people terrorist ads… When in reality all the politicians are getting money from the insurance company's… Granted some, are getting a lot more than others, & I guess, that's the ones there most down on.. I guess the mud, is going to fly regardless, from both sides, & nobody… Seems to have any boundary, when it comes to accusing & name calling… But I haven't meet an American yet, that doesn't like making a little money… When that's brought to the attention, of the accusers… They come back with, making money is fine, price gouging is wrong, bankrupting the country, is treason… Generally, that's when I'll back out of the conversation…. So,,, what do you thing? But if all you can do, is start with the name calling, I'd really rather, you not take part, in the conversation…
