How much auto insurance do I need if I own a home and some other assests?

My auto insurance company told me that if I'm in an accident and I don't have enough auto insurance I can be sued and possibly lose my home. I never heard of anyone losing their home because of an auto accident. If I have a good driving record, how much insurance do I really need and can I really lose my home if I don't have enough? and how do you collect from someone who doesn't have any insurance? It seems stupid to carry uninsured insurance if I can sue someone for damages.

Suing Auto Insurance?

I had a single vehicle auto accident 4 months ago where my car was demolished. I flew of the highway going 120KM over a cliff and rolled the vehicle over 2 times. I didn't think I had any injuries, other than a few bumps and bruises however now I am having alot of back pain and rib pain. The vehicle was not in my name, I was driving under someone else's insurance. I was wondering if I could sue their insurance, for medical expenses?

Can I contest a police report (for an auto accident)?

Can I contest a police report (for an auto accident)?

An elderly lady I know was just involved in a fender-bender. The other party was young, rude, and claimed that my elderly friend hit her, saying, "You hit me! You drifted into my lane!" When the police officer asked the elder if that was true, my friend said, "well, maybe so." She said this because she was so rattled that she couldn't think of what to say, and now in hindsight she says, no, she thinks it wasn't true. She called the cops, who told her that whatever was stated while the police report was being written is the bottom line, and will be the basis for the insurance settlement. But isn't there something we can do to get her opinion–now more clear in hindsight–into that report?

Can she legally sue me for injuries in an auto accident?

Can she legally sue me for injuries in an auto accident?

About a week ago ,I got into the dumbest accident. We were both in the right most lane to turn right on the red light. It was dark and she was about to turn but hesitated and stopped at the curviture point of the turn. I thought she went, and the road was pretty clear of the traffic since it was midnight. She was about 5 to 6 ft away from me. I hit my accelerator and hit her. I was ultimately shocked. She set there for the longest crying. The EMT and fire trucks came out. I hit her at about 12-15 mph . My bumper had paint damage and popped out a little bit. Her back bumper had paint damage and her back light was broken due to the impact. She claims that she has hit her head on the steering wheel, which in my mind could only happen if she wasn't wearing a seat belt. The trooper gave me a ticket, which I do deserve. She chose not to go to the hospital, but mentioned that she would be going to a doctor to get checked out. She also claimed that she had injuries from a previous accident that did not heel completely, which is understandable. She claimed that when she hit the steering wheel , her neck bounced back really fast and that she had headaches. My biggest fear is that she will attempt to sue me for injuries, lost wages, medical bills, and loss of happiness. I do have the insurance, but the process is going to take forever since the traffic report does not come for 10 days. Any ideas on this matter?

Accident & Insurance Question?

Let's say a pizza delivery person is using their own auto for delivery pizzas and he gets into an accident. Whose insurance pays for damages done to their car, another car or bodily injury. I am taking classes for my P & C test and am still a little confused about if the business would have to be responsible or would it go under the delivery boy's own PAP

what happens if you are not at fault and have no auto insurance?

What happens if you are not at fault and have no insurance?

I was involved in an auto accident and I was not at fault. We were at a stoplight and he backed into my car. The police was involved and I received a ticket for not having insurance, and he received one for wrongful driving. Here's the twist: He only has comprehensive insurance and I was suppose to start my insurance today (I bought in back in January and didn't drive it until recently). When I asked to get insurance mid feb–I was told to wait til beginning of the march since it's a new billing cycle. Is this possible to take this situation to court? Please help!

The situation is complication enough as it is. Please answer only if you have experience in this field. Thank you.

If you got into an auto accident?

If you got into an auto accident?

You got into an auto accident and no one got a ticket but, you used someones car, there was no insurance, and that person was legally disabled. The state sent them a letter saying they had to turn in their license and tags. The person filed an appeal and the state did not take the license or tags but, the person with the disability cannot renew their tags due to the accident that the other person had in her car. That person needs the vehicle for Doctor's appointments for her and her Mother who has MS. They live in a small town where there is no public transportation and no one to transport them. Is there any exemption for that person so she can get the tags for her vehicle? She is on SSi and cannot afford an attorney and legal aide said they do not handle cases like that. The insurance company totaled the other persons vehicle when it only had a dent in the rear passengers door for $10,000.00. I have searched the web all day and cannot find a thing. I live in Texas but, she lives in Iowa. Legal advice would sure be appreciated. I don't know how to help her. Thanks.

auto accident for work comp?

Auto accident for work comp?

I got into a car accident on January 28, 2010. It was the other person's fault and he received a traffic ticket on the police report. The car I was driving is my friend's car, it was totaled. At that time I didn't go to the hospital. I told my friend's insurance company, I needed to go see doctor, because of i was on the clock while I got the accident, so I need to get worker comp. After like 2 weeks, my back shoulder was hurting me so much that I needed to go the Emergency room. I been doing therapy on my back. I been telling my manager of this regard. It was new to her, she wasn't sure the procedure is. It took her a while to find out. She filed worker comp on Feb 19,2010, but until now I still haven't receive the claim number for my medical bill yet. Will this be a problem, because of the new regulation on 2/1/2000 must be notify your carrier within 30 days? On this saturday, my car accident will reach 30 days. So I am very concern about pasting the date, that they won't cover my medical expenses.
