Planning on moving out.. advice wanted for young female?

First of all, I am going to move out one way or another, so before you tell me to forget the idea, please give me useful advice. I am more so looking for how to "go about" it and the best ways to be financially responsible in doing so. :) I am nineteen years old, turning twenty in August, and I'm in my fourth semester of college. I am almost finished with my associates degree in general studies. Currently, my boyfriend is living with my mom and I. She's a single mother and I am the only child, and she doesn't particularly "like" my boyfriend. He is a really nice guy who goes out of his way to make me happy and she's doing everything she can to physically keep me here, mostly psychologically controlling me. She tells me that I won't have any health insurance and that I won't be able to afford my monthly rent/car payments. She also tells me that my car title can't be transferred over to my name until it is entirely paid off (which I've been told is not true), even though I have good credit. Since she refuses to help me financially once I move out, I don't know how to deal with that unless I save up for my own vehicle. Whenever I try to have a civil conversation with her about possibly getting my own place, it turns into her yelling at me "Go then! Have fun! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" I work at Outback Steakhouse part-time (about 25-30 hours a week) and my boyfriend is also a server at the same restaurant. Her threatening the lack of health care had me worried about lack of medical coverage, but now that the health-care reform has passed, that's one less thing to worry about. Upon bringing up the reform to her, her response was "I doubt EVERYONE will have health care." When I asked who wouldn't be covered, she ignored me. I think I'm finally ready to consider moving out once and for all, at least by the time I turn twenty. I know my mother will continue to be bitter about this, as she is extremely lonely and doesn't spend much time with her friends these days, so she's doing anything she can to keep me here. She is especially angry that I am considering moving out with my boyfriend and sharing a place with him. She feels like I am "choosing" him over her, when really, it's just a part of life and moving out with him would be a lot easier than struggling all alone. My main question is: She has funds in the Florida Prepaid College Program for me and I have been using it throughout my college experience as I don't have any scholarships and haven't applied for any loans. I was wondering, does anyone know if she would be able to drain this account or prevent me from using it? I'm sure she has some sort of authority over it as she is the one who has set it up and been putting money in it all these years. I am appreciative of her, but the more controlling she becomes, the more I realize I eventually have to get my own place. It's causing me so much anxiety and it's really hard to deal with on a day to day basis. Also, any advice on my situation is appreciated. Thank you! :)

should I move on or wait for him?

Should I move on or wait for him?

Hello everyone. I have posted a question previously and recieved a very good feedback. Thanks for all of your support. For someone who do not know about my situation, I would like to give a brief description and ask you for advice. Once again, please excuse me if you find any mistakes with my English, as it is my second language.
I have been married to my husband for last 17 years. I describe it as an unstable relationship. We had two children, but, our opinions and life styles would never match. He expects me to be extremely traditional, I want to adopt everything as long as it makes me comfortable. I respect my culture and traditions. I do not drink/smoke/party/ clubs etc. I have been an average housewife with two children (16 and 12).
He thinks it's his right to beat a woman when it is REASONABLE.I would not accept it. I started to stand up against his opinion and argue with him. Everytime, it got worse, he would abuse me physically, emotionally and financially. I approached his parents for help, it did not help. Besides, his mother suppoted his behavior and said " no man would beat a woman without a reason, there must have been a reason behind it". I got hurt with her answer and lost my hopes, stopped approaching his family for help.
Eventually, we made it to USA. he continues to abuse me, even in US. He would beat me infront of children, and children stopped him many times from beating me.He prevented me from contacting my parents and siblings. He did not allow me to visit India in last 10 years. At this point, I decided to be on my own feet and applied for nursing school. Fortunately, I got into nursing school, but, it took me five years because of my husband. He would hide my car from me, fight with me and beat me to stop from going to school. I had to drop from Nursing school for two years because I could not make my clinicals on time.
Somehow, I made it. I passed nursing with 3.2 GPA, got a state job. Filed for seperation from my husband. But,Problems started again. He had a heart attack and had to go through a by-pass surgery. His insurance company denied to cover his expences as it was a pre-existing condition,( he had a stent due to a blocked artery, the previous year, ended up with 130K of bills as he did not have any insurance. he was under an observation period for an year. unfortunately, his stent has failed and the artery blocked again. Doctors suggeted him by-pass surgery. he was also not allowed to fly and was on complete bed rest.). He approached me for an advice. eventhough we filed for legal seperation, I wanted to sign-up for his insurance with state as pre-existing conditions were also covered. After I signed up for his insurance, he went through by-pass surgery, successfully, recovered well with the help of my parents, and other siblings. I lost my maternal grandmother during this time in my country. could not see her because of my husband's surgery.
Meanwhile, my father, who visited US for a month becme ill. He was diagnosed with cancer, had surgery three months earlier than my husband's. He went to our country back, could not survive, died at 59. It was a tremendous loss for me. I was completely broken down, ran to my country for his funeral along with my husband and kids.
It's been 3 months. My story turned around now. I recently figured out that my husband had been transfering money to our country. He registered all properties there on his name. He took loans against our house in US, transferred that money. took loans against all of the properties in our country, do not know where he kept that money. He forclosed our house (about $800k)in US. Filed bankruptcy. Sent me an email asking me to find an apartment for myself. He rented an apartment for himself and kids, without my name on the lease. He offered me to come and stay at his apartment anytime I wanted. He gave a notice at rental office saying that I am not allowed to be on the lease. He moved all of the furniture into his apartment and asked me to come and get it whenever I want to, in his presence. He called police when I insisted to take atleast minumum furniture with me. I got completely hurt. broken down, cried for a week. I never called police on him even after he beat me many times. He beats me until I bleed. He tried to kill me once by grabbing me into a closet and choking my neck. I never called police. how could he call police on me?
I went away along with my girls that night. stayed at a motel for a week, rented a place for myself and kids. currently, living with my children. my questions are:
1) should I move on with my life or wait for him?
2) Children do not want to live with him as he is extremely strict and yells at them. should I take complete custody or shared custody?
2) children became completely out of hands. I am thinking of sending them to a boarding school for a couple of years, if incase I get complete custody. Is this a good decision?
3) Did I make any mistake by moving into my own pl

HELP – TRAFFIC TICKET IN MULTNOMAH COUNTY?

by on Apr.04, 2010, under finance

Undecided Question

HELP – TRAFFIC TICKET IN MULTNOMAH COUNTY?

so I was driving off stark last night at about 9pm – i was coming off the freeway and making a left hand turn. the light turned yellow as i was going through the light and a cop pulled me over. it was safer for me to go through the light vs slamming on my breaks. the ticket i received was $287 due to failure to obey traffic control device (ORS 811.265)!!
this is my 1st ticket so i don't know what i should do.. i really don't want this to affect my driving record as i am planning on purchasing a new car and will need to get full coverage insurance within the next couple of months – also i just cant afford a $287 ticket.

any advice on what i should do? i was thinking of fighting the ticket because i didn't run a red light – it was yellow and as mentioned before, it was safer to go through it vs slamming on my breaks.
i cant really afford this steep of a ticket either.. has anyone ever fought against a traffic similar or the same as what i received? what do you think is the best approach?

Thanks!

What kind of auto auto insurance should an 18 year old male with $4000 buy?

by on Apr.04, 2010, under finance

What kind of car should an 18 year old male with $4000 buy?

I'm an 18 year old male living in Iowa and I'm planning on buying my first car in May. I've been looking on craigslist for the past month or two to look at cars and around what I can get with what mileage in the price range of $3000-4000. I know most starter cars for people are Corollas, Civics, Accords, Camrys, Integras etc. I'd just like some advice on what most people would get that would be:
A) Pretty good on gas mileage
B) Not too terribly bad on repairs when they're needed
C) A nice car that wont completely screw me over on insurance costs.

Doesn't have to necessarily be a car, I'm open to buying a truck or van as well.

Thanks.

Advice REALLY needed! PLEASE!?

Advice REALLY needed! PLEASE!?

Ok so i'm seventeen and for my seventeenth birthday i got a car. it caused a massive row cos my mum didnt think i should be allowed to simply be given one. My grandma bought it for me.
So here's the problem… i have to pay £20 a week to my insurance. and £5 a week parking at college. thats £25 a week. and i only earn £36 a week!! That means that i am left with only £11 a week for myself. and most of that goes towards petrol!!
It seems like such a waste cos i only use my car to get to college and work! and i have a bus pass anyway so i could get to college for free!

I never have any money to do anything with my friends or buy new clothes or anything. and now i just want to have some money, cos i dont really get any benefits of having the car anyway.

So should i actually say that i want to sell it. because it could cause massive rows again after what we all went through to get it for me. So should i just be poor forever? Oh god what a conundrum!!

if you have any idea PLEASE offer them!

I am being sued after a auto auto insurance accident, how can I hide my assets?

I am being sued after a car accident, how can I hide my assets?

I was recently involved in a car accident, my vehicle rear ended a truck at about 30mph. The truck did not have ANY working brakelights and stopped very sudden, the driver of the truck received a citation for the brakelights, I also recieved one for failure to control speed to avoid a collision. The driver did not seek an ambulance at the scene and had minor scrapes, the paramedics checked him out and said he was fine to drive home with the tow truck driver. The driver I rear ended is now suing me for an unknown amount that is going before an arbitrator. I already have an attorney that my insurance has provided, I am very young and I have about $25,000 in stocks that I have worked extremely hard for, I am worried because my insurance limit is very low, its about $35,000 so if the plaintiff wins anything beyond my limit I am liable. I know I should ask these questions to my attorney, but I want to hear other advice! I was thinking of selling my stocks and keeping cold hard cash in a safe place, or setting up an irrevocable trust. Any help is appreciated! As I said im very young in college and this situation has me stressed out.

need advice for editing software with very basic functionality?

Need advice for editing software with very basic functionality?

I am recording video for my website. It's typical black or white background one person talking video. Just like this:

www.authenticmanprogram.com

I am a windows user and looking for a software which can do following:
- During my monologue filmed in controlled indoor environment, I want to be able to add an image or power point slide (does this mean I need software with multi-track video editing support?)
- able to remove noise from the audio
- add title and credits
- add subtitle on video or slides

I looked at following software but none of them can satisify all my requirements. I am amature and don't want to buy very expensive and complicated software. Is there a video editing software which can meet my requirement which is not too expensive?

- Movie maker 2.1
- videopad

Both of them don't support #1 and 2 mentioned above. I need support for MP4 or wmv for 1080p.
