Trip to Omaha next month. Where to visit?

Next month my husband and I are going with his sister and some other family members to Omaha Nebraska. We're planing on staying for the weekend (Friday through Sunday) and the only thing we know for sure we want to do is visit the zoo. We are taking two young children, under five, so any idea would help a lot. thanks

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Yep, the zoo is a good plan. Are you staying at a hotel with a pool? Kids always like that. Miniature golf? A picnic by a lake, or fishing? I know they're young, but you could give it a shot as long as somebody keeps an eye on them. There may be a good kid's movie out at that time, too.

The Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha is excellent. You and the kids will enjoy it very much. You can also visit Lauritzen Gardens and Lee Simmons Wildlife Safari (in Ashland). The Wildlife Safari is plenty of fun and you'll see many animals along the way including bison, cranes, deer, elk, and wolves. There are also hiking trails and a visitor center with exhibits and a small gift shop. Source(s): Visited Omaha

we have a great children's museum, not as good as lincoln's, but still pretty fun. and you have to make a trip to the old market in downtown omaha.
