hi i am going to be turning 16 soon and i want to get my own car but dont want to pay for high insurance but i thought… Can i get a car and put it under my moms name so the insurace will be cheaper so techncally my mom then would own 2 cars then when im 18 she can change it under my name when i move out thanks

the insurance rate has nothing to do with who's name it's under, it has to do with who drives the vehicle. It will be cheaper for you if your mom adds you and your vehicle to her policy, but you need to be on there with her or once the insurance company finds out you are in the household, they may not pay out in a claim, cancel or non-renew her policy: all of which are really bad.
