About volume on my computer please help!!!!?

Please help me, I have managed to delete my volume control from my computer i think i need to reload the program for the sound card can anyone please tell me how to do this or tell me how to get to my attached devises its windows xp i have thanks

Ok first try going to windowsupdate.microsoft.com this may help your computer identify some of the drivers it needs but is missing (assuming you have a legal copy of windows).If your computer was made by one of the major computer production companies (dell,hp,compaq etc) it should have a service tag on it, if you go to their website and put in that tag it should give you the ability to download any relevant drivers you may need for your computer.Failing that you can run Belarc Advisor (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html) to find out the make of the sound hardware in your machine, and then go to the makers webpage and locate the appropriate drivers for yourself.

Use the system restore.click on startopen up accesories folderclick on system toolsthen click on system restorerestore to an earlier date before you deleted the folder.This will resore any deleted files

There are two ways to get your Volume control on your system:1. Windows default sound setting2. The soundcard's application.1. Getting the default sound application go to start>> control Panel >> Sounds and Audio Devices >> Check the option "Pleace volume icon on the taskbar" Press the "Apply" button and then "OK" buttonIt will create the speaker like icon on your task bar which will be volume controller if you click on it.2. The icon can be put back on the desktop. Go to control panel, open it, find the one for sound or audio and open it, have it put the icon back on the desktop. If you mean the drivers download them from the manufacturer web site.
