A question about MS Word 2007 and MS Office Home and Student 2007?

Why does MS Word 2007 cost $229.00 but, you can buy MS Office Home and Student 2007 for $149.00 which has Word 2007, plus three other programs?

Because you're not allowed to use Office Home and Student for work purposes. If you get Home and Student, you'll notice that at the title bar, it will say "Non-Commerical Use". Typical home users can't afford the prices Microsoft likes to charge, so they give them a discount. Businesses on the other hand have to pay full price.

I think they want you to buy all of the programs so you get used to them and buy all of them forever. The Home and Student is only licensed for one person (not commercial) and you get 3 licenses. Here is an article discussing this: http://news.office-watch.com/t/n.aspx?a=…Generally you can buy both of these items for much less than the suggested retail price.
